Hello all. First time poster here. Glad I found this site, so much info.

My info:

Notice Date: 3/12/2003
FP: 4/2003

I live in San Diego, CA and sent my N400 app to CSC. Here is the weird part, ever since March, whenever I tried to do a status inquiry , I have always received this message

"The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

Up until now, the same message and it has been 6 mos already.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

You need to get in touch with them right away..

Good Luck!

Thanks. Yeah, I'm writing a status inquiry letter right now. Sigh, INS sure is mysterious...:D

Most times, if the status goes away on the web site it means that the case has been transferred to the local office after clearance from the service center. You should contact the local office on this.

Thanks, mgh2001. Yep, I'm gonna send both the CSC and my local office the inquiry letter and see what they say.

But I thought you said you have been getting this message since March, the month you applied. Therefore, I am assuming your file 'might' have been misplaced. Not to scare you, but its possible!!

Phillydude, you are right, that's why I'm going to send them an inquiry letter and find out what's going on. I don't think my file has been misplaced, if it has I wouldn't have gotten the letter to proceed with the fingerprinting, right?
