Folks,

I want to take attorney with me when I go for interview. The problem is that my attorney is in different state. If I take him it will cost me a bunch.

Is it advisable to take some other attorney, not the one that filed for your I140/I485?

Can I call Newark, NJ to find out when my interview will be scheduled?

Please advise.

No use of changing attorney

Hi mycase18,

If your case has already been transferred to Newark, NJ local INS office, they will schedule an interview for you. It will be approximately 6-8 weeks from the date of transfer.

Regarding changing the attorney, there is no point in changing an attorney at this late hour.

Moreover, if your case is straightforward , there is no problem at all. Newark seems to be pretty reasonable.
