Hi, I have filed my I485 in Dec17/2001, From this march 2002, I may expect some salary reduction bcoz of economy.is it going to effect anything in the I485 stage. I heared that i have to maintain same salary that we mentioned in Labour, is it true? please help!

No u do not hve to file 1-140 again

what happens is that Green card is for a future job
so salary is not important at this stage - It is a commitment given by ur company that when the gc process is complete they will pay u the salary mentioned in the Labor/I-140

However i am sure no one really checks once ur gc is approved

It is just a formality and u do not need to file I-140 again

Do not raise this matter with ur company because they may create some problems

Hi rsrgc

Just a quick concern. If there is an RFE for pay stubs and W2, if we respond with pay slips with less salary, would not that create a problem.
Would appreciate your reply.
thanks

On what basis?

On what basis, your assumption is? Just now i have found it , i think I am o.k.

this is an interesting question

If GC is for a future job why do they ask for w2 and salary pay stubs

I wonder !!!!!

is INS trying to establish that we r gainfully employed and not below minimum salary limit of H1 standards ?

I am not sure

I believe each category (EB1,2,3) have an acceptable salary range

So if your reduced salary is below the range for that category, you have to file a new I140. Please ask your attorney for details. The reason I am saying this is because one of my close friends was forced a salary reduction. His lawyer is now filing a new I 140 for him. This is a serious issue and you do not want to be caught off-guard towards the end of your processing. I hope this helps....
