Safe date to mail N400 (from NJ)

Hi,

I live in NJ and I am LPR since 04/18/2005. Please advise what will be the earliest safe date I can start mailing my N400 Application. (note that 01/18/2010 is US National Holiday)

Sign it on 19th of January and send it. You are good to go. You can go to this site to substract 90 days from 4/18/20010.

Up to 90 days before you have meet 5 years of continuous residency as LPR.

Every day counts for me as I had to Travel before May 31st. I see it will be very tight. Finishing Oath and then applying US Passport and then Indian Visa (getting OCI before May 31st ruled out).

Is there a option I can apply and get US passport within 2-3 days (in NJ or NY)

Yes, You can request for faster processing with additional fee's. Look into US government travel website.

You can get passport same day or next day by going directly to a passport agency. Remember to start looking for appointments 2 weeks before oath date.

OCI is indeterminate. You can apply for it depending on when your oath is, and take a visa if it is not ready by then.
