RTD and Visa To Mexico

I recently received a green card through asylum and I am planning to go to Mexico in October. I am planning on applying fot RTD and I just want to know if Mexico embassy recognizes RTD and how long does it take to get a visa?

If you have your GC you dont need a visa for Mexico. RTD + GC is enough to enter mexico by air or land...

ccordova624 - I don't think you are correct, because I found this thread and a few people state that vis IS required for trips to Mexico:

Mexican empbassy says following: http://www.consulmexny.org/eng/visas_fmt_inm-stateless.htm

They do require VISA as well as personal appearance at NYC consulate in order to get visa in Refugee Travel Document.

I know, for sure, you don't need a visa to Mexico if you travel with your NP and GC. With if you are using a RTD I don't know. But I still think the only document you need to reenter is a Green card.

Passport required.

Visa not required for a touristic stay of max. 180 days,
provided holding:
- proof of residence; and
- Tourist Card/FMT form issued by airlines (free of charge).

Immigration officers will decide on max. period of stay.

Minors under 14 years of age, travelling alone, should be met
by an adult.

I know for sure too. My mother traveled to Cancun, Mexico last month with her GC + RTD. Read the the Mexican Consulate website carefully, and you will see. You can also called them up...

I went to Mexico back in 2005 when I just had an RTD and no GC. My travel document was stamped with Mexican visa, but when I arrived to Mexico City the local IO didn't even looked at it. He stamped RTD on the random page and that was it. I am pretty sure you don't need visa with GC.
