is check from cia/dmv/local police/credit check etc etc.

It is different from fbi check which is done based on fingerprints.
 
It is only criminal and legal status check

Per my lawyer. Make sure that your stay in the US are all legal, and also you have no criminal record. I asked specifically for credit check, lawyer said credit is not part of adjudication. DMV record (such as DWI) also may not be an issue.
 
Chris is right..

I asked my lawyer the same thing and I got the same reply as Chris.. However my lawyer did say that DMV records could be checked for DUI/etc charges in some states. But DMV records checking isn\'t part of a normal background check. Credit check is not included at all.
