Applied for 485 in Nov.
Recd EAD and done fp.
Now here is my question:-
  I came to US in Jul 99 and the employer didn\'t pay me for the first 5 months.
 After that I changed my H1 and everything is good after that.
 Now if INS asks for 3 yrs W-2, I don\'t have any for 1999.
What are my options?
Is it a serious issue when INS looks at it?

I have similar kind of problem but I never thought about it..

Is this a serious issue.. However my spouse was working at that time so I filed as a dependent for my spouse
 
I don\'t think it should be a problem.

It\'s not your mistake that your employer didn\'t pay you.
In worst case you can use 245i and pay a $1000 fine and get your approval.
These are just my thoughts.....
