"Rooms with Free Rent in Exchange for Homecare Services" - is that a good idea as job offer?

We search opportunities to increase our chances to meet poverty guidelines, and first time in U.S. we think that it would be very good not rent appartment, but provide home care for some elderly people in exchange for free living for our family. We already have experience in doing such job.

And if we will be able to receive a job offer from somebody in U.S. who will promise to provide us with such job, how do you think is that a good idea?

I still don't know economic conditions for our future employer - will he pay us money for such services or not, but for sure we will search someone who will be able to provide us some place for living. The question is - will consul believe that we will be able to live there if we won't get paid for our service? (only living as a compensation) And the second question is, how usually officially in U.S. such labor can be documented? Is that possible to send "job offer" based on service exchange? (We provide home care, somebody provide us appartment) I know that most states in U.S. have hourly wage minimum. But if we won't work by hours, is here still exist to work officially? (because in our case receiving job offer is important).

NOPE!

Service exchange won't pay for clothes, food, health ins, other ins. and to buy anything else or save money.

The poverty guidelines are clear, they only explain the monetary amount...not services for free or in exchange for something.

How do you want to buy clothes...what do you intend to change in a store to get a pants?

How do you pay at the doctor's office....in exchange for what?

Sorry but to me you are either an opptimist or naive...

Even with the best intentions...what would you do if the person you help and offers you a free stay, passes away or doesn't like you...where do you go, where do you think you find a new opportunity like that..You become homeless and a liability to society....so again this will not something that will fly.

Get a job or a sponsor....
