RN in CA Should I go to immigration office?

I am a Japanese who received all nursing education in the US and become a RN. Even though all my nursing education was in the US, I applied ICHP/CGFNS for Visa Screen and received (This was recommended by my lawyer.) I received I-140 and working permit...so I am working currently as a RN. (It was smooth until here...)
For some reason, my I-485 case was transferred to local office for interview. Right after the transferred notice, I received an interview notice. I had an interview with INS officer. The interview was quick and smooth, but I did not get a stamped on that day.
According to the INS officer and my lawyer, because local office has not receive all the paper from service center, I have to wait few more months. The interview was on Oct. ..... It is already March.... How long more do I have to wait? A friend (who is also nurse) told me to go to immigration office to ask about my case. Does it help?

did the officer ask you for a VisaScreen

Did the officer ask you for a VisaScreen certificate issued by CGFNS?

Thanks

Thank you!
