Hi,

I have submitted a GC petition (H1B holder married to a USC), can you tell me that till what time/step can I expect a RFE from USCIS? Fortunately, I haven't got any so far and have to appear for FP on 04/24.

Please post all your documents/evidences and forms you have filed. Also, check in the forms if you or your spouse forgot to sign any forms. Based on that I will tell you what you might expect:p

Thanks for the reply. My question is that usually what period/time frame of the petition candidates get a RFE? Is this something that you don't get once you are granted the EAD?

An RFE can be sent to an applicant during any stage of the process. There is no cut off limit/period.

As you have already been told that a RFE can be issued at any stage of the process and there is no any fixed/specific timeframe/limit for it. Each unit/division/section within the USCIS sees a case for processing as per their duties/jobs. The data entry unit does it work by entering the data in the USCIS system and after checking that forms are not outdated and applications are signed. And then applications go to different sections for processing. Each USCIS clerk might see or overlook things differently. So, if you receive a RFE for something that you have already sent with your application then don't be surprised; instead just send the required document as soon as possible without thinking twice.

By the way, I've still not seen your timeline thru signature.

Vishals: Can you post your checklist with each application you filed. That way, moderators can quickly identify which paper you have forgot to send. Also, I believe, you MUST have made photocopies of ALL the papers you sent to USCIS. See if you forgot to fill in any mandatory information or forgot to sign any paper. Finally check whether you sent in the payment from the bank that is still in the business.

Hope, you don't get any RFE. I love your pre-emptive strike but had you checked your check-list in prior, you could have saved some anxiety, water under the bridge. Never mind.
