Rfe??

Hi All,

We are going for an 6 weeks oversee vacation in the summer, but worried what if RFE is issued during our absence. Anyone has suggestion how to deal with it?

1). Does RFE require to respond within certain period of time? If so, how long the period usually is?
2). What happens if we fail to respond within the timeframe?
3). If RFE is issued, who will be notified? Me, or my lawyer, or both?

Usually what RFE is required? I know this really depends. I am thinking if I can collect and send all the possible material to my lawyer, and let them handle it. therefore, would appreciate it if you can throw out all possible RFE.

Thanks, and really appreciate all replies and suggestions.

AND normally it goes to the lawyer. If you are away and your presence is required to reply the RFE then may be your lawyer can ask for more time informing them that you are out of the country. (I am not sure if you can ask for more time or not, its just a suggestion)

At least at NSC, the only message changes if RFE sent out. So as long as you have internet access, you can check. The lawyer will get the RFE. If it's the EVL (common one), you can ask your collegue to help. In my case, I got RFE in early May, I got an email notification (you have to sign up at USCIS website) before I received it. Also an email when it was received. If it is more than EVL, then you may have to do something yourself. But most faxed docuements are fine. You have to reply in 90 days. If you don't, your case is considered withdrawn
