RFE when out of country

Can someone explain how soon should we respond to RFE? I know that sooner you respond, faster is your chance of approval. But if you are out of country when your attorney receives the RFE, is it ok to respond after a month?

I think you are given 3 months to respond to the RFE. I guess it should be mentioned on the RFE.
