Hi there,

I suggest we start tracking RFEs in one thread to get an idea on how fast they are moving and the range of RDs they currently work on.

If you have received an RFE, please post here the following info:

RFE Received Date
RFE Details
I-485 RD
I-485 ND
FP Date (if any)
Additional info:
(a) did you submit medical form originally
(b) how many times did you travel on RTD (if any)

I would also like to track down the following (you can post this later on as it happens):

RFE response date
RFE received date by INS
I-485 Approval Date

I will track all this information in a spreadsheet that I have created based on another thread (by username) and I would regularly attach it on this thread for your review.

PLEASE JOIN IN!

samoel,

what's the "non-fly watch list" and how do you know you are on it? You mean they are trying to see if you have entered your country on a different name passport and then reentered US with it? This is a first time I see something like this in a RFE. Is there a particular reason related to your asylum case may be that caused this question to be asked? It's just suprising to me because this sounds like a direct accusation in a perjury - travelling with forged documents...

Well It's a long story I couldn't leave my country with my passport cuz I was afraid of being arrested The government after a state of emergency had me on a watch list and they requested my passport A friend of mine got arrested at the airport trying to leave just days before I left so I had to pay lots of money and got a passport with US visa but different name. This thing came up during the interview and was explained in my asylum case. In the RFE letter today they state in so many words according to the law since I entered US with "fake passport" I'm guilty of misrepresentation and I'm not eligible for adjustment unless I file I-602 the waiver. The lawyer is filing the forms for me and attaching an explanation letter. That passport saved my ass but left me with lots of explaining to do.......

I would not worry about this too much. Many asylees entered the country using false documents. They started requesting the I-602 waivers about three years ago, probably a post 9/11 policy shift. And our experience shows that almost all are approved.

Thanks Gilbert That's exactly what my lawyer said.

Samoel,

This is a very standard request in today's environment. I was also requested same information in Aug 2003, I had myself informed the asylum officer about the fake documents in my interview.

I had RFE response submitted through a lawyer. Once they received my response I was not asked for any more information and my case was approved.

Regards,

RAsylee, Thanks for your info Do you remember How long did it take to get the approval after submitting RFE?

It should be 60 days. However, I've seen some people that were approved 7 days after submitting RFE. Depends what kind of information are they looking for.

Updated list

I collected some more info on RFEs and approvals from other threads. See attached the updated file.

People, please post your RFE info here.

Thanks,
L.
