RFE -time to respond

How long does one have to respond to a RFE request.
My online message says the RFE has been mailed on Nov. 14th, but I haven't received my notice as of yet. When I call Immigration officers say they will mail another notice only after one month..

I'm in the same boat. I called the the National Customer Service Center yesterday. Although the on-line status says I need to call the center after 14 days, I was told they would not do anything if it is less than 30 days. However, they did tell me INS usually allows people 86 days to repsond an RFE. What hell, just another 2 more months on top of 2 years waiting!

How long does it usually take for an RFE to arrive after the on-line status shows a notice was mailed?
 
For me it tooks exactly one week, it depends on how far you live to ins. I live near to VSC. I Think though they update messages every hour, the notices get mailed at scheduled times once/twice/thrice etc. a week.

Now I start to believe that my RFE is either got lost or returned. I moved to a new place a little bit over a year ago. My guess is that VSC still doesn't get my address updated after 3 letters and 2 phone calls to the useless 800 number. I wonder if the Customer Center ever helped anybody. It's a waste of money and time! What a perfect timing to get an RFE, Post office stops mail forwarding after 1 year.
 
Got my RFE exactly after a week at my new address (changed address twice after filing 485). My lawyer mailed some form to VSC and luckly received a change of address confirmation from VSC just before the RFE was issued. If you have changed lawyer maybe it could hv been mailed to your previous lawyer. If so check with them also.
 
RFE goes to the lawyer

You will not receive it to your home address if you have a lawyer.
But as all the notices mention, you should call BCIS if your lawyer does not receive the notice in 14 days.

They usually give 9 weeks to reply to the RFE.
 
Finally got it.

Finally did get my RFE it came exactly 4 weeks after it was mailed. It was mailed to my Lawyer's Office. I think if you have a Lawyer to do your GC process, the RFE goes to the lawyer's address.

I also got my second Finger Print Notice. That is after 15 months after the First FP notice.
