Ok I am done submitting my RFE..after consulting with my attorney. He was surprised that I did most of the work..but he added more stuff onto my letter and we sent it along with 119 pages of evidence..which include

1. Letters from family members signifying family unity.
2. 2000-2004 tax returns,
3. Selective Service Record
4. Past employment records
5. Letters from friends and coworkers signifying strong ties to community.

For travels in the past, copy of every travel document and a letter with travel dates and copy of I-94 attached with Year(2000,2001,2002 etc).

HOpe they are happy with the heavy package..Cost me 29 bucks..

One_of_you, I have had bad experience with INS before..so I have this theory that I do not throw anything...Maybe I am paranoid but I was also surprised when I found my tax returns and surprisingly all the copies of my travel documents. I think as an asylee, I was always scared that what IF i lose my travel document so I photo-copied it and took it with just in case..glad I did.

And the I-94's, I got 8 out of 10. once they didn't issue it and once the stupid airline girl took it..which I wrote. I did talk to the airline I used the most...and paid 20 bucks for them to send me proof of all my travel but that was going to take 2 weeks....I wanted to send it asap...and it doesn't say airline receipts..it mentioned I-94 and RTD copies..My lawyer also agreed....My lawyer was so impressed..he called his other coworkers to show the letter I had written with exhibits....(thanks to samoel & lazer for helping me)...

I am sure I/O would be impressed and approve you right at the spot.... :)

I hope so..Or he would go what-the-hell-has-this-ass-sent-me??...Let me send him another RFE just so he can send me another 119 pages....Well hopefully we all are approved before end of this year...at least the 2000-2001 cases..

Thats what I am also hoping for.....

Rfe

Oh man... hope I don't get an RFE.

I have went through 5 or 6 RTD-s (of course, sent them back when I applied for new RTD) and traveled so many times for both business and pleasure without keeping records of my travel dates... :(

Let's put it this way, some international airlines that I have used are no longer around.

That is quite impressive. It appears that they are approving tons of cases. You should hear good news from them very soon.

Want,

Why do they pick up you to submit RFE, by any chance you have a clue?

Which group(s) of asylees have the best chance to be requested for RFE? - people coming from Islam countries?

Sadasylee...If you go to USCIS's website about asylee adjustment process..they list that I-602 and past travel dates since granted asylum as requirements for adjustment...My lawyer told me that they just go through a checklist and if they dont see I-602 and if they see you have requested a Travel document..they ask for the dates...

So Its more of a processing issue rather than picking certain countries...They have to follow all the laws..even though It was mentioned in the asylum interview as to misrepresentation..they only look at I-602....Also during your citizenship interview, they will have I-602 on file beacuse there is a question that asks if you ever misrepresented the USCIS.

Want! Actually they check your I-485 forms that you filed initially (100 years ago) and they ask if you have travelled outside the US. So I think that those people who did not travel during their 1st year of waiting after asylum, have less chances for travel evidence because I/O is just looking at I-485 form and sees that no travel since asylum even if you traveled extensively after applying for I-485.

Want,
What do you think of what Lazer said here?

That sounds reasonable: If an asylee claims in his I485 that he did not leave US in the first year after granted asylum, why did he applied for a RTD? CIS needs you to explain.

I hope this is the case since I did not apply for RTD in the first year.

Lazer, what you are saying is true also..but the reason I say that was because I went to their website and added all the past travel document LIN# to my portfolio and all had the Last UPdated Date same as the RFE date.. I did that just to see if they looked at the issue date and when i got it..and I was right...I also started to travel after I filed I-485 so my application had no on it.

Hmmm.... then why some officers ask for record of past travel and some do not. I think officers have some discretion in following the check list.

Maybe because in the past 4 years..i have asked for 5 travel documents....I am pretty sure they can bring up all applicantion type approve/denied by A#...

Hi Folks, I'm new to this forum.

After reviewing postings on RFE, I still can't figure out what triggers RFE request. Some get it and some don't. It would be nice to know % of RFE versus non RFE approvals.

Its based on Officer's interpretation of your file..If he thinks he needs more info...SOme are detailed and after 9/11, no one wants to get blamed..some for instance if see a female under 18 and she needs a I-602 waiver ..they may just skip it since she mentioned it in her application(my sister approved without RFE)...but for males...usually they are more careful and want to make sure before they adjust you. Getting A GC is a major privilege..its the path to citizenship and citizenship can lead to jobs in the military etc..with classified info..so they have to be sure.
