RFE responses tied to receipt date ?

My labor was filed under EB3 in Dec 2001 along with subsequent filings of 140, 485 etc around 2004. I recently received a medical RFE on my I-485 in July 07 to which my lawyer promptly responded. INS got the response on 7/21/07.

Is there a separate process for adjudicating 485s for RFEs vs regular RFE filings which are tied to a priority date. my case is being processed in Nebraska Service center
