RFE response received message updated ... Please read inside

Hi :
 The message finally got updated from \'Your case was received on .. \' to \'RFE response received .. \'. It goes on to say that preliminary processing has been done and it will take about 180 ( ??!!!) days to process this.

I am concerned about this. Is it going to take 180 more days or is this just a message to keep people from calling up and it usually is faster than that? I have seen approvals on this board from 2-6 weeks after RFE response.

Please let me know if anybody has any ideas. Also, on a different note, my wife\'s message is still \'Case not found \' . Is this normal ?

Vinod, Pls tell what was the date of RFE and when you received it. The reason why I am asking is that the message was updated for me on 19th Jan but till now RFE not recd. Vinod pls help

RFE was received in early Jan 2001 ( not sure of the actual date ) . Response was sent back very soon within a few days. INS updated the response received message only on Feb 3.

I sent my RFE response (employment letter) to VSC 1/25/01.

I called IIO this Tuesday and the nice lady said they have
received the response on 1/30/01. Looks like it does take
few days to get thru their mail room.

Anyway she said my response is with an officer and
expect a decision within a month.

My AVM did not change at all. Still says about
I485 received on blah blah.. did not even change for
RFE.
