Form what I have seen recently they are asking for continuous presence in USA after asylum grant along with Travel dates and purpose of travel etc.

After asylum approval and before applying for I485 I went to Canada for a few days
.
Also I have never made copies of any travel documents and kept a track of dates since every time I have turned in my travel doc. I have pretty much always driven to Canada since border is about 30 miles from where I live and I have no clue how many times I have been there. I do have proof if continuous residency in USA since my asylum was approved as I can show my tax returns and pay stubs.

Is this an issue? How do you get around this?

Even thought you have been in the US legally and they know it, sometimes people have problem proving it. How are you going to prove it??? What I’m going to do is get a letter from my employer that states when I took vacation in the past few years, copy of travel documents, I-94 and hopefully this should be enough.

Guys, I have been to Canada numerous of times through my car. How do you remember what exact days you traveled in the last 5 years? Driving to Canada is just like going to another city.

copper1! have you got an RFE? Is that why you are asking?

Only tell them dates for which you have stamps on RTD and entry stamps from Canadian customs. Anything concrete, you have to disclose.

Enclose a letter stating that you have entered Canada numerous times and you do not have record of many travels. You can approximately tell them that you have traveled to Canada by road, say 6 times in 2004. That should be enough. They were not putting stamp in your RTD is their problem not yours. Also not remembering an exact number of entries is not a big deal also, as long as you disclose it.

I haven’t received any RFE yet. I am just concerned about it since I expect to get one either this or next year. This also includes 4 additional family members. This is why I am concerned.

Thanks,
