I talked to an IIO yesterday and she told me that the adjudicating officer could not make a decision and would like me to have a face-to-face interview with an officer (her wordings). After waiting for 17 months (filed I-485 in July 99)this is what happend to me. I don\'t when I would get an interview call from the local INS.
