RFE for I-485 in L1A visa (TSC)

I am in dilemma - I had submitted documents in regard to RFE for I-140 which they received it on September 11, 06. I just checked the status in USCIS website for I-140 which is still in the processing phase however, they said they have sent me another RFE letter (Dated September 15, 06) for I-485 (I had filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently). I am baffled as to what my status is for I-140 because I thought they only process I-485 after approving I-140. Has anybody gone through the similar situation? I appreciate all your help. Thank you very much..............
 
Why do some people like to ask questions about the RFE before they receive it? Can you answer the question before you see it?
