hi,
I had filed for the 485 application along with my husband. Our RD is 7/03/2001.
Yesterday the AVM mentioned that additional information is needed on my case. The letter mentions that the birth certificate does not have enough info and that my parents name is needed. They have not mentioned if an affidavit is enough.
Does anybody have any info regarding this.
also is there a specific format for the affidavit? and who can issue it.
any help is appreciated

You can get two affidavits from parents or close relatives. Whats wrong with your birth certificates? Don\'t they contain your parent\'s names? Didn\'t you submit affidavits at the time of filing?

so my father\'s sisters should be ok?
do you have a format for that and from where these can be made

i was born in canada, and on the canadian birth certificate parent\'s name is not included. During filing i submitted my birth certificate and the lawyer did not mention about affidavits

I think your birth certificate + plus two affidavits (one from parents and one from clode relatives like uncle, aunt who have personal knowledge about your date of birth) should be sufficient. I am not sure if your Sister\'s affidavit will work as she may not have the knowledge of your birth.

But does this need to be signed by a notary or other goverment official? How does it work?

i did not mean my sister\'s , but my dad\'s sister - aunt. I have two of them and was wondering if i could use both of them.
