I saw the following status on the USCIS website:

Receipt Number: nbc*000

Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent

On July 29, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call 1-800-375-5283 to update your address."

However, I have not recieved any RFE what so ever. The only letter I got was for fingerprinting. Is that considered RFE? Or they sent another letter that I probably did not even receive?

acr - I'm sure your detailed answer was very helpful for the OP

stuka - The RFE is the request for finger printing. You are fine. Unless you get a second letter asking for more documents etc, I wouldn't worry about it.

I got the letter after received the notice of action so does that mean its the fingerprint notice?
I know I sent all the neccessary docs.

Go to Your local office. They probably(99% sure) lost your fingerprints:confused:. The sooner You go, the sooner your case will go on. That's what happenned to my friend.:(

I got the status change to RFE after Fingerprinting done. It is a kind of bug in their system which shows Fingerprinting as RFE.
