RFE/EVL related question

Hello all,

I received a RFE to verify my employment around 4 weeks back. My lawyer furnished the necessary information to the USCIS last week. However, I saw the copy of the response after the letter was sent to USCIS and it included incorrect "employment start date". I have not changed my employer since my GC was filled and have been working for this company for the past 6 yrs.

While this was clearly a mistake and I am sure my lawyer will handle the issues, if any, arising due to this mistake, my questions are:

1. what are the chances that this will result into another RFE (or some other issue)??

2. Is there anything I or my lawyer can do proactively to avoid further RFE's due to this mistake?

Any help/comment/suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

I joined in May-2003 and the response states that I have have been employed with the company since June-2004.

My GC was filed in April-2004.

And yes, as per my lawyer, the incorrect date is not an issue.

According to him, the focus of the RFE in question is to determine if the job offer is still available and valid and the incorrect date should not have any impact.

If they have other documents indicating a different start date from what the letter says (e.g. H1B, or the initial I-485 job letter) and they notice the discrepancy, they could raise another RFE to resolve the inconsistency, which could cause another delay or even trigger an interview. Given that the letter will likely go in your permanent A-file, if I were in your situation I would have another letter sent with the correct date (with a copy of your I-485 receipt), explaining that the previous letter sent on X/X/XXXX had an erroneous start date.

Thanks. I'll ask my lawyer to do what you suggested and hopefully he'll do the right thing.

While my lawyer is pretty good in what he does, I haven't had much luck in getting anything done my way.
