Rfe And Rfi Together

Hello folks

I just sent my RFI ( medicals and G325) back to NSC this after noon but i was looking at my profile this is morning and they sent me request for RFE on 8/9 ( toady) any body knows what else they ask for ? also any body got RFE before they send the RFI back?

ashgajo..I had gotten RFI and RFE together in March. RFE asked for proof of birthdate..I thought that was normal and everybody must get that..guess not..Did your status online say about RFE sent?

Have u done bio yet?

Yes it says RFE sent 8/9 that is for me and my wife , also my wife received a BIO request (week ago) to be done on 8/20 but i did not receive a bio request as of yet
 
Do they have the different message ?
How can you distinguish between those two?

Because all I know, the message says like this
"On July 21, 2005, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

That is RFE,, the RFI says Initial Evidence

please keep us posted on what the rfe is going to ask...
I'm also August, 2001, but my husband and I received RFIs and BIOs only.

Congratulation for you new responsibility :)

I had sent my birth certificate with my I-485 application may be that was the reason I have not received RFE notice yet. Are you agree with me or they may ask for RFE? I have not traveled out of usa yet once I got in.
 
Its funny how things change in 2 years. When I was adjusting, in 2003, there was no such thing as RFI. In fact, RFE was a combination of RFI and RFE.

Seems to me one gets an RFI as part of a screening process and requires the applicant to send in documents that are missing from the application. And it seems an RFE is for when the officer is doubting something or wants evidence to help support your claim for adjustment.

It is all rather complicated really. I would advise you all to stay calm. When I got my RFE it was for medicals and request for waiver. I am sure you will get something that concerns a material fact, like proof of your marriage, date of birth, travels abroad, taxes, residence (1 year), etc. I know its a pain to wait, so perhaps you can gather your things together so you are prepared to turn around that RFE.
