did you do it by lawyer or on ur own... please give me details i am also in the same boat.

I went thru my lawyer. Its very simple. Just had to send new employment letter, paystubs.

RFE was for 2000 W-2s and recent 4 paystubs and employment verification letter from the employer who filed the 485 app. But since i got laid off and joined a new employer on the east coast, my lawyer sent AC-21 in response to the RFE with all the material asked for and new company\'s employment letter and paystubs.

Amazingly, it got approved in leass than a week it seems. I got the approval notices on Valentines Day.

I don\'t believe you applied for any AC21 thing.

All your lawyer did was to reply to the RFE
using hte new companies information.

There is no formal application process to
make use of the I140 portability clause
in teh recent AC21 legislation.

You can tell the INS or you can not tell them.
In the later case (if you read the AC21 memo)
you will see that they will issue an RFE
if they believe you have chnaged jobs
which is what probably happened in your case.
