Got Notice I-797-C Notice of Action yesteday and when I checked my case status it says "On October 28, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION" . Any experience on this ? any document I need to prepare to send them ? Any answers will be very much appreciated .

I saw some posts for SJC area where RFE was for fingerprinting.
BTW: I sent my N400 last week to Phoenix (SJC DO), and saw that the checks were cashed today.

Most likely this message refers to a fingerprint appointment notice.
USCIS does not yet have their automated case status system configured properly to say that a fingerprint appointment notice was mailed. So when a fingerprint notice is mailed, this fact is reflected in the online case status system as an RFE.

That is fingerprint appointment notice. If you are in NJ and your home address start with zip code 088 then expect fingerprint notice in 8-12 days from the date October 28, 2009.
