Just got multiple emails from USCIS saying there is a RFE coming. Wondering what's about? Anyway got similar email recently?
Can someone share their RFE experience?
Will approval come soon after replying to RFE or I am just day dreaming?
Thanks!

Yes, usually approval happens very quickly after you answer the RFE if you cleared the security checks! Good luck man, hopefully you will be done soon!

Are you married or recently married by any chance? I was thinking the reason for my interview is because I was recently married. May be rfe is regarding something like that!

Good luck!!

No, my status didn't change at all since filing I-485. Hope it's not something too bad.
Mr. Green, good luck on your interview!

Actually, I was married before I applied for I-485. I heard the interview could be for many reasons even a simple traffic violation. I guess it makes them feel better to see to see the applicant in person!

It is good news that they are looking at your application even though they officially say that they are processing applications with a receipt date of May 15, 2004!

Any idea if you cleared the name check yet?

Hi,

I am the same boat as you. Received multiple email from USCIS on my I140. We received the letter and USICS were requesting the following

1. EMPLOYER TAX RETURN
2. EDUCATION EVALUATION
3. COPY OF MY W2

Lawyer is preparing all the documents. Hopefully to reply next month. See signature.

Hi Mr. Green:
No idea about the name check. Since the processing date was not at my receipt date yet, not sure where should I go to find out about my name check. Can I call USCIS even though they are still processing 2004 receipt date case?
Thanks!

Hi Defrag:
Did you sumit all those things when you filed I-140?

Hi sea98121,

My company lawyer prepared everything. I am hoping that they submitted everything if in case not this is maybe why USCIS asked for it. Will let you know what happen next.

You can always call and ask. You might get lucky and a nice person answers your call! I know my security checks are not done yet because the local office told me so. They are very efficient in answering email enquiries. I wish NSC was had that capability!

Keep us posted with your situation!

Not all the cases get to transfer to local office right?

I guess I should call USCIS to see how my name check is doing, kind of putting it off because I am afraid to hear "not cheared yet" response.... :o

I think they wouldn't have issued you an RFE if they thought your file was going to be transfered to the local office!

Hang in there man, probably the RFE is about an updated employer letter or something like that. You or your lawyer should receive the RFE letter next week! I received my file transfer notice after a few days from receiving the emails!

Attorney received the RFE letter today, asking two things.
1) Explain why I started work while still on F1 status.
2) Copy of family registry.

Attorney will write up something saying under 245i, one can work up to 6 months unauthorized for 1.

marraige and rfe

Good luck!!

I waited 6 months after the marraige to file 485 for myself and spouse. I wonder if I will get an rfe or interview 0r something like that?

I'm surprised they even brought this issue up given the fact that you worked under 6 months. This is a common mistake which many applicants make specially when H1B numbers are not available until October and ones EAD card expires in June. Many applicants have a 4 month gap of unauthorized work!

I'm sure you will be fine!

My attorney seems to believe they overlooked my first H-1B approval and believed I worked 3 years unauthorized..
