Revoking petition

I filed a petition about 2 years ago trying to bring my stepdaugther to the US. She is now 16. However, after I've met her for the 1st time this year in China, I realized it's a huge mistake. She'll not be able fit into my family at all. I would like to revoke my petition. My question is what am I suppose to do?

have you talked to your spouse about it? maybe, she/he may not want to be stay in this marriage without her child. A lot of people look out for their children's happiness as well, not just their own.

Plus, by the time that child comes to the States, it's going to be time for her to go away to college at 18. She may not be living with you all that long.

Neither my husband nor I thought that my parents would ever live with us. We were used to living on our own for a long time. They immigrated to the US, lived with us for about 2 years on and off, and now they live separately, so everybody is happy, and everybody is in the States. A temporary inconvenience is just that - temporary.

Other than that, revoke it by writing to USCIS where it's pending.

sigh......It is a very complicated situation

My stepdaughter is 16, and my husband haven't seen her for the past 15 years. For all the years I spent with my husband, his daughter never once call her dad just to say hi, every time she calls, she either wants money or something else. She and her mom tries to break up our marriage as they thought they can get all the money we had from my husband. I already have 2 kids with him, so with him not wanting to stay in the marriage is not going to happen.

Anyway, thanks!

in that case - revoke by all means!

By the way, even if it doesn't get revoked, by the time it makes its way to the consulate, if you don't sign the affidavit of support, she won't get her visa. You didn't sign one yet, did you?
