Revoking of US Citizenship

WouldBeCitizen

Thanks for reading. Gurus, here is an hypothetical situation.

Recently became a US Citizen. Might have to give accommodation for one month for a visa holder (may be F1 because the candidate is not here yet). The future F1 is currently working in a call center in India and wants to migrate (and work!). He says he got offer from JCPenney as a store manager (he lives in heaven, working in the call center, thinking that he can come to USA and work as he wishes with his F1). If the USCitizen houses this F1 for a month, and if this F1 lands in hotwater for working outside the campus will this cause problem to the USCitizen? Can this lead to revoking of the C/ship?

Thanks for reading again. Yup the WBC paranoia is back. How can you escape it? :)

Fyi,
Side notes. The F-1 will have to give proof that he is able to work off campus to emplyer. I think the form is I-9 and it specifically asks about it. I am not sure but a company like JCPenney could find it difficult to hire him without proper documents.

WBC,

Are you knowingly abiding a known criminal ? No
Are you helping this F1 visa holder escape immigration rules ? No
Are you supplying false documents or false witness ? No

So I think you are OK. the rules for stripping US Citizenship are very clear and you have to commit treason, or have lied to CIS in your interview or have committed a crime prior to getting CZ or must be some kind of Nazi/Terrorist to lose CZ

My experience

I had F1 from summer 99-December 99. I worked in college bookstore. tried a job with JC Penney as a parttime cashier - same situation your friend's in. JCPenney asked for all the work authorization papers- I was legal but no work authorization as F1 student. JCPenney conducted background check - found that my SSN is attached to providing valid INS authorization to work outside. They won't sponser for work permits. The result: they won't hire me!!!

What Rahul Kumar mentioned is all perfectly fine, but my question: if someone like me had problem getting a cashier job due to F1 and work permit issues, how can one be hired straight from Indian call centre??? And, if he/she is hired for other reasons, chances are that JC Penney will run extensive background checks and the probability is close to 100% that they will find the status through SSN verification system.

I don't know if my experience applies in your case. But, I would suggest keeping in mind before making an informed decision in your situation.

I totally agree with Lunamoped. That is what I meant in my post above. People coming from overseas may think they can find a way around but it will not happen.

When I met him in Desh I went to his house (at his mom's request) for dinner. As a guest I did not want to make a harsh comment but said that if he comes to USA and wants to work, he should make sure that he is not breaking any law. He reiterated that he got a job as store manager from JCPenney. I thought may be it happened on call center manager and he is building castles there. So since I had the dinner obligation (Chuckle) I did not make any comment. His own brother is in NY as an undergrad and works in desi restaurant and makes some living. This guy should know better. He does not talk to us. Nor does he keep us in contact. He knows his illegal things; so it seems to me. He also told us two days ago that he started a business. Whoa, what is happening? Even after 12 years of full legal stay I am not able to start any business and he on F1 and ILLEGALLY working in a desi restaurant, started business? Man, life is so stunning!

Something was smelling like rat. Who am I bother about them? So I wanted only to know if I house this kid from desh, I might be in hotwater. Now that our moderator said clearly, I am free from worries. Thanks to all of you!
