Returning on re-rentry permit without job

If I return from re-reentry permit, after I quit my job in which I was working while I was abroad, am I supposed to have valid job offer in US.
In other words, should I have a job in US when I return on re-entry permit?
I got my GC through my former employer.

You need not have a job while reentering the US.

A common question that POE officer likes to ask is "what do you do for work?" So if without a job, it could potentially create a problem if you were gone for over 180 days.
