Returned from COP

Hi everyone,

I just came back from my COP. I was there for about 4 months, working for the UN, and will be going back there soon. That's what happened at the immigration:

I presented my GC and RTD--I received my GC in early May and had a valid RTD with me when left the country.

Immigration: I cannot stamp your RTD, it says that you're any asylee, you need to get a national passport
Me: an immigration lawyer told me that I could travel with valid RTD, I will get a national passport
Immigration: how long were you out of the country?
Me: about 4 months
Immigration: what was the purpose of your trip?
Me: Business, I work for the UN
Immigration: Welcome back

She did not ask anything about going back to COP. It was a very pleasant experience, relative to the crap I had to go throught before getting the GC!

Hope it helps.

Did your COP people not ask you about RTD? i.e. why the heck you applied for asylum in US? Can I ask you of the port of entry back to US?
