Return to India - Company Harrassment

I work for the a large Indian IT company and am here on h1. Due to family reasons, i want to return to india, but my company is not letting me go. I have completed the assignment for which i was sent, however they want to retain me here for prospective business.

Can you guys please advise as to what are my options? Can i complain to DOLs?

------ how they can stop you?? you have Indian passport with you. book a ticket and go back.

yes, but that means i have to pay for tickets and am open to termination.

i want the company to pay for this as well as make it difficult for them to exploit others.

--- if you are leaving the company then they dont need to pay Airfiar to your home country.

Leaving the company is a quick and last option, There are associated costs - loss of benefits, making urself open to suits from the company as well as trying to find a new job while being without a job.

Any other idea?

1 in your first post you said that you want to go back to India, if you want to go back to India, you CAN go back any time and company dont need to pay your Airfare to India. but if they fire you before you complate the H1 term then they need to pay you airticket to your home country. If you want to change the employer in US they are not required to pay you return airfare

2 what kind of suits if you are going back to India? you have said that YOU want to go back due to sone personal reasons, if you have to find job in India do you think they need to pay you while you search the job in India?
