Hi,
During my process of asylum application the USCIS took mine national travel passport and other documents. I never got them back from them. Does anyone had an experience of getting back your documents from USCIS? How can I get my documents back. Happy New Year to everyone here.

There is a special form on the USCIS's website. You should fill out that form and they will return all of your original documents...Check their website

Wrong..... There is no such form.

Hi Punjabi_Munda,

Sorry to disagree with you, but Faysal is right. There is a form. It's G-884. Here is a link: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/g-884.pdf

Just because you don't know, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I know you like to disagree with whatever Faysal says, but I think it's good if you research the info he provides before you jump to a conclusion. I don't want to get involved in your feuds, but I have noticed that some of you, provides wrong info on the forum, just to negate Faysal.

My bad...

Sorry, my bad. I wasn't aware of any such form. Normally, USCIS sends back the orginals back automatically when they are done which is printed in most of their forms. Normally, USCIS doesn't ask for your orginal documents except for the one they issued you, like expiring RTD or replacement GC etc. which they have no intention of returning to the petitioner. Sometimes, they like to see the originals like you Birth certificate or marriage certifacte at the time of interview. Normally notarized copies would do just fine.

Hi MGTgrl,

I commend you for the tactful post. I know I'm the phantom of this forum, but I do lurk and visit often! I agree wholeheartedly that needless arguements and feuds take away for the idea behind this information-sharing and hope-giving forum.

Regards.

You are right. It would be nice if we could all get along since we are all in the same boat!

Thanks for the compliment :) ! I try my best to help out my fellow friends here whenever I can! I get a lot of information and support here; I hate to see this forum turned into a "hate" platform.
