Retrogression .. reality check

An out of control Immigration system that allows a million illegals every year while screwing the legal migrants in many different ways. A broken bureacracy and an increasingly fascist right wing trend. Declining opportunities. Rising health costs. Folks, welcome to USA.
I am completing my MBA in December and was unsure about returning to India. Thanks to retrogression, my mind is clear. This has actually helped me make up my mind and I am glad that I will be returning to my family and friends next year. The good roads and lack of pollution dont justify the misery and lack of opportunity/freedom in this country anymore. Let's go back home, stop complaining, use the opportunity and lead a more meaningful life.

I could not agree with you more.

We can always come back if and when we want, and apply for the GC if and when the process takes less than 6 months, if the tables in the world economics have not turned by then :)

I think the US does not want to accept that others are catching up. It has still not understood the adage: Adapt or Perish.

Things are always rosy when making billiions by selling computers and arms and mcdonalds. Perennial selling is a Myth.

America is built on Corporate greed. And Corporate greed will create jobs in the third world, unless America decides to become a closed market economy, after being a harbinger for the free market whenever it was convenient to do so.

Some of us have got so much used to this lifestyle that, if there is a flood, they would not budge till they will be air-lifted by a helicopter, in pursuit of the elusive Green Card. People having the pride of a lion suddenly become so spineless that it is amazing.....what quick comforts can do....

Instead of whining, let us use this opportunity to make a firm resolve not to take this "shit" anymore, and go somewhere else where we are not treated as second class citizens.

This nation, whose foundation rests on money hungry insurance and lawyers, will get the quickfix when it crumbles under its own merceneries.

Luckier than you

atllab,

Am I luckier than you? I got my first EAD a month back. So I saved cost of 1 set of EAD and AP than you. Look at my data below

Eb3 India May 2002,
I140/I485 June 29, 2005
I140 approved = August 04, 2005
I485 approved date == ???????? LUD changed August 9, 2005 after FP, Lud changed August 9, 2005, August 10, 2005.
FP = August 9, 2005 (code 3)
EAD1 RD = June 29, 2005 Approved July 27, 2005
AP1 RD = June 29, 2005 Approved August 5, 2005
EAD2 RD = December 29, 2005 (estimated) Approved: N/A
AP2 RD = December 29, 2005 (estimated) Approved: N/A

I logged in after ages today and saw What a mess INS has created . I have a feeling this is done for reason beyond us. Someone should scan pending 485s for all service centers for last 5/6 years and calculate how much VISA numbers are required to get the correct picture. You may be able to find lot of data in this forum also about 2001 to 2003 cases.

Hard to believe!!

We all are in a mess now because of none of our faults. Over the past few months, I have had feelings of excitement, apprehension and now this is a big letdown. I have been working in the US for 12 years hoping that one day I will be free and have a green card. I saw with excitement the processing dates jump closer and closer in last few months to my receipt date. Then all of a sudden the dates crossed my date and I thought my approval is around the corner. I saw and read the approvals for people who had filed even earlier this year. I started looking into why the delay, and found out the FBI namecheck is pending. This was frustrating as trying to get anything done about it is like banging your head into a brick wall. My frustration has now turned into dismay and a sense of defeat. You just cannot win. I have worked for years--day and night, paid my taxes and done everything honestly, and finally believe I have gotten myself scr***d. I just cannot imagine waiting for another 3-4 years. Is this the American dream???? Illegal immigrants seem to be better off in this system

ab kya karun,

There is no doubt that the current situation is almost hopeless for most of us but do not give up. Yesterday I was down and out and I wrote the following post, maybe this may help you a bit.

An honest man/woman always wins in the end. The key word here is "end". The jouney is tougher for honest people because they respect the law and do not take shortcuts. The rough journey though will always end in a very fruitful and meaningful life that one will be proud of. Honesty will always prevail in the long run. So hang in there and keep doing what you do best.

omg

sorry and best of luck. I would think do a SWOT study and see if you think canada could be a good option. If your job is steady and company is doing well hang on but doing canada as a backup is not bad option

best of luck
