Resume needed for TN Engineer

Do I need a resume for the TN engineer category as a Software Engineer? How about past TNs and H1Bs ? From what I understand, these are all the requirements:

1. Employer support letter
2. Offer letter
3. Original degree
4. Transcript
5. Passport
6. $60.
 
Resume might be helpful on your first TN, but after that it tends to be ignored.

If you are qualifying via associate's degree + 3 years experience, then I'd definitely bring your resume.
 
Resume is to get a job offer from the sponsor, never to get the actual TN. If proof of experience is needed, only letters will satisfy.

Just to be clear, an Engineering TN cannot be obtained with diploma and experience. Only degree or a license can be used.
 
There are surprisingly few TN categories (8) that allow diploma+3yrs to qualify:
They are:
CSA
Disaster Claims Adjuster
Med Tech
Hotel Manager
Industrial/Graphic/Interior Designer
Tech Writer

And yet I've had a border officer ask to see my resume when making a TN application.

In such a situation, why not provide it? Responding with "No I only show my resume to my prospective employers" seems pointlessly antagonistic.
 
I guess. But so is asking for a resume, when none is required., Even a recent university graduate can get a TN. Does the officer need to check your McDonald's job history?
