Response from Senator, regd Expedite Request

California resident VSC applicants, please read and reply...

My RD : 02/22/2002

I sent an expedite request to california sentaor Dianne Fienstein on 02/15/2004. I received a letter from the senator's office on 03/19/2004 stating that they have initiated an inquiry with the VSC on 03/15/2004.

Also, I received a voicemail from the senator's office stating, that they have sent an email inquiry to the VSC on 03/15/2004.

Has anybody got such reply from Senator Dianne's office? If so, What can expect (or not expect) after such response??

On a side note: I have earlier tried faxing/emailing an expedite request directly to the VSC. But, I got a standard reply that "VSC can't expediate cases unless we provide them with an humanitarian or emergency reason for doing so."

Sharing your experience, is highly appreciated.

What I need to know is the definition of humanitarian or emergency ground ?
Can somebody shed some light ?
If I say I need to change jobs or I need to buy life insurance is that covered ?
If I say that we are suffering tremendous mental stress is it justified ?

Her office was helpful for us. Please keep your follow up with Stella . She is good to work with . She provided real picture of my application till approval last month.

You may read and let your friends know that read our story in India West news paper coming Friday 03.26

COuld you please give me an idea, as to how long it would take for VCS to respond to Senator's query. Also, how did they (VCS) respond in your case? Please share your senator experience in detail, up until your approval. I live in a remote city in CA, where there are no indian stores within 50 mile radius. Hence, please post your senator experience.

what is your letter says ?

Did you gave your authorisation to Stella ?

Then you shud call Stella and check with her if she is following up your matter .

In my case once I call stella ,and give my information ,she inturn use to call VSC /officer and give me update in 2/3 days time.

In Nov 30 she said my case is complete and with officer and allow 60 days.
So I guessed that I may not get REF as she mentioned complete. Nothing happened till Dec end. Started follow up again , mid Jan 04 I learn from her that VSC/officer has mentioned allow 30 days more. Just a week to complete another 30 days I got approval with no REF,.
 
Update

I kept following up with Stella, from Dianne Fienstein's office.

Yesterday, I received a call from Stella, saying that "the VSC Liason officer had told her that my case would be assigned to IIO within 30 days".

So, if someone is planning to work with Senator Dianne's office, please do so and who might get some case movement.
