when applying for US citizen ship which date should we go by ?
according to the date on my green card (resident since :xxxx)
I have completed 5 years. If I go by notice date of my 485 I have another year to go.

Any advice is appreciated.

It should be the date on your green card. This date will also match the date the passport got stamped, the day you had your interview for green card.

However, I don't understand what u mean. Your I485 should have an earlier date than on the green card!!!

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Actually for me these dates don't match. The date on my green card is the date I filed for the green card and not my approval date or the date I got my passport stamped.

The application FAQ clearly says to go by the date on the green card. Should I wait another year to be safe or should I just go ahead and file for the citizenship ?
