Residency requirement in a particular state before applying for N-400

I recently moved from CO to VA. I completed my requirement for residency status to apply for N-400 in Aug 2009. (I got my GC in Nov 2004). Since I had some personal issues, I have still not applied for N-400. I heard that one should stay in the current address for atleast 3 months before applying for N400. Is that information correct or can I go ahead and apply for my citizenship right away? Thanks,

For most of the states, the 3 month or 90 day is correct. I am not sure if there are exceptions though.

If the DO that now serves your area is different from the one that would have served where you used to live, you will have to wait 90 days after your move to apply for citizenship.

There is no issue of states deciding what to do . this is a federal rule and hence the rules are consistent from DO to DO. Live in the district served by the DO for 90 days ... being the rule.

I guess it would be safe to assume that the same DO does not service Colorado and Virginia.

OP, wait the greater of 90 days/3 months and apply.
