I become eligible to apply for natz in about 6 months from now. I currently reside/live in my own home (both me and my wife are on the mortgage contract). Today, to help my friend in leasing an apartment (he has relatively bad credit, and it would cost a lot for him to lease it), I put my name/social etc as a co-applicant (we put 2 applications for both our names). The apartment was given based on my credit history. I intend to get out of the lease after 4-5 months from now and he would remain on the lease.

Does having name both on the mortgage and the lease (2 different residential addresses) cause any issues at the time of filing N-400?

What kind of residential address related questions are there on the N-400?

In trying to help out my friend did I effectively screw up my potential N-400 application?

Please provide your valuable inputs.

Don't believe you did.

Your residence is still where you live with your wife. As long as the rent is paid on time, this cosignment has nothing to do with your credit history or the citizenship application.

In N-400 section6 says list all the places where you lived in the past 5 yrs. The way I look at it, I don't have to mention the apt address in there since, I don't live there. However, if I don't list it (when they run my history and get that apt address as well), does it lead to the conclusion that I am lying on the application? (Am I thinking way too much unncessarily!!?:()

Just take the face value of the qustion; it asks you where you lived, not the real estate you owned or rented or operated.
