Hi,
I am currently on 7th year H1b extension. My I140 application is awaiting approval.
My question is about staying outside USA for 6 months while GC Processing is going on. Sometime next year I might have to leave for India and stay there for atleast 6 months.
Will this affect affect my greencard processing, such as getting into any queries/complications by immigration dept. while considering my case, at any stage!

Thank you very much clarifying in advance!

Should not be a problem. However, since you are still in the initial stages of GC processing, you cannot get an Advance Parole at this stage. You will have to fix an appointment with the consulate and get the stamping before you re-enter. This is of course assuming that your stamping has expired in the passport.

Since you don't have a GC yet, there is no question of maintaining permanent status status till the time you get it.
