Research Check ???

Dear All,

I went to consulate for EB-1A final interview.
After all procedures, a lady hand me a letter
and say I need to write my research topics, work experience,
education, and so on. She told me that the letter
will be faxed to Washington to check if research
is related to weapon manufacture.

Then, my VISA was not issued at that day.

Actually, I am so sad....that I need to wait another "uncertain" period.

Did anyone hear that before?

Appreciate.

Sorry to hear this. I have heard about they asking about your research verbally, but not writing it down as in your case. What is your field of research or current job? I can consult my lawyer and get back to you if you give more details.

My current job is related to EDA/CAD for semiconductor.
I don't think that is related to weapon.

Anyways, thanks for your help.
I am still waiting response from consulate.
A long waiting time again....

The word semiconductor may have been triggered this process. People at the higher offices do not necessarily understand and want to make sure whether such thing is used in .... manufacture etc.
It happened with my good friend who was working in medicine imaging like (ultrasound, MRI etc) as a technician, but the department is called by the name "Nuclear Medicine". This word triggered the same process as yours.

after you did all the NVC procedure and submitted original civil documents, did you still had to go to the local office in home country with more documents?

No. I just got the interview notice from NVC. And, I attended the
interview at the consulate at my country.

After all procedure (documentation check, interview...), the officer
handed me the letter and she told me that Washington DC will
perform a special security check for my case due to EB1A.

And then....

Two weeks passed.....I still wait...

Is there anyone who has similar experience like me??

After handing supplement doc regarding my work plan in US,
I am still waiting for security check result.
The consulate here told me they still wait for the cable response from
Washington DC.

40 days passed........

My security check is finished. The consulate just gave me this wonderful information. (it took around 2 months to complete total check)...:D

I would like to thank everyone who ever gave me suggestions in this forum. Thanks to you all.

Hope whom are applying consular processing will get smooth.
