Rescheduling again!!! Advisable????

Hello guys,

I had rescheduled my FP in Nov04 since I wanted to delay the GC approval. In the meantime I got married, and now awaiting my wife's arrival in the US. Last week I got another FP notice for January first week which I want to reschedule again since I want to add my wife to I-485 process. Is rescheduling again advisable? The FP notice has a single date mentioned but does have a rescheduling option. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If the alternative is not having your wife included on the 485, I don't see any other choice, considering it's sometimes happening that the 485 is approved very soon after the second FP.
 
Thanks Skoorb! But it's not my 2nd FP, it's 1st FP only which I want to reschedule once again (i had done rescheduling two months ago). Would it cause any harm other than delaying the GC approval? Even if it's my 1st FP, there are good chances that I will get my approval soon after FP looking at current trend.
 
Try not to reschedule it if possibe.

CSC emphasized the importance of not re-scheduling fingerprint appointments, as this will significantly delay the process. If an applicant misses two fingerprint appointments, the case may be denied.

In regards to approval after first FP, it depends when it was initially filed. If it was a while ago, it's possible that they're looking at your case to adjudicate. But, if you filed quite recently, it's highly unlikely that you'd be approved right after the first FP.

If it's a first FP, which they may do just for the heck of it shortly after filing the 485, then it won't delay your case leaving it, since they are not going to look at it again for months anyway. But, if you filed a long time ago, then they may be ready to move ahead. If that is the case you do NOT want the 485 approved yet, and you'd have to delay the FP.

I guess there is a difference between missing the appointment and rescheduling it, don't you think so? Anyway I am hoping that I don't have to reschedule.

My priority date is current, 140 approved, 485 applied in Dec03.

I'm sure there is. Best bet would be to ask the person at the fingerprinting place, but unfortunately they may ask you to print right then for your convenience :) You could be "asking for somebody else", though.

I don't know for certain, but it seems to me that if the notice says you can reschedule, you can. I would be surprised if nobody's ever rescheduled twice. I bet it happens fairly often.

May not be feasible, but you could get legally married to your fiance now, and then just not really think about that until the ceremony comes along. I don't think you need to worry though.
