Rescheduling 2nd FP - Seeks guidance

I have received my 2nd FP notice for Feb 1st week. Since I am presently single and plan to get married soon, I would like to reschedule my 2nd FP for 3-4 months, in an effort to buy some time to bring my spouse in to the country on H4 status and file for her 485 before my 485 approval.

FP notice only has an option to reschedule the appointment to next available wednesday/saturday. Is there any means I can reschedule my FP to a much later date. Has anyone done this successfully?

Read the notice carefully. Mine was saying if you are unable to on that particular day you can come on any Wednesday before a date, which is more 90 days away. I think you can do it within 13 weeks from appointment date. Of course I am talking here about the first FP.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately my notice doesn't say so. what it states is

'IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR AS SCHEDULED BELOW AND FAIL TO REQUEST RESCHEDULING, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED.'

And the only option is to reschedule to next available wednesday or saturday. Infact I do remember that my first FP notice in June 02 had exactly the same format. Maybe different ASCs have different formats for FP notice.

You can go to local office and reschedule it. My friend did it. He went to local office spoke at the security. Security personal him self rescheduled. He postponed it for three months. This was in 2002 December. My friend went for his FP in last week of Feb 2003. He told him that he will be out of station on company's work for two months. Hence he cannot make on that day.
