Hello everyone.
My wife is a US Citizen and we filed "FORM I-485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS" so that I could become a permanent resident.
On May 23, 2007 I received an "I-797C, Notice of Action" with subject "REQUEST FOR APPLICANT TO APPEAR FOR INITIAL INTERVIEW". The interview's date was for July 13, 2007.
I fell ill and could not attend the July 13, 2007 interview, but my wife did attend.
The officer asked my wife to write "Please reschedule the appointment because my husband is ill" in the I-797C form and sign it. The officer kept the form.
It has been over 1 month and we have not heard anything back, we're concerned that we may need to do something else, like filing an additional form or restarting the process.
Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Can you please provide any suggestions?
Thank you very much.
