Has anyone ever requested for a speedy oath ceremony after passing the naturalization interview?
I have just received a new job in the east coast and i plan on starting this job August 4th. However, my interview is scheduled for July 22 and i am concerned i may not receive the oath invitation letter before leaving for my new job.

I currently live in San Jose btw.

I have requested them speedy for everything but never worked. I even told them that I am living a life of 30 Year Old virgin they still did grant my request... If you are lucky enough, you might have get the oath on the same day... worst come to worst, take a day off and go for oath back there.. it is worth it. However, there is no harm in going for Infopass and requesting that.

Unfortunately San Jose doesn't do same day oath. There is no harm in mentioning this to the IO. However, the chances for it working are not too high. I think I only remember one post in which talking to the IO led to scheduling the oath at a particular date. By all means try, and let us know if it worked for you.

Thank you very much. I will surely post the outcome of my interview and whether they grant me a speedy oath ceremony immediately after the interview.

I'm actually planning on requesting a "speedy" oath as well. My interview is on 8/14 and I'm getting married on 9/13. Since I'm changing my last name, an oath prior to 9/13 would eliminate a lot of complications with the wedding, such as having to get REMARRIED in city hall in order to obtain a marriage certificate with my new last name.
