Hi I'm new to this forum but have been lurking reading posts for a few months now.

My question is in regards to the I-131 advance parole document:

I thought (and was wrong) that I could bring my medical/biometrics with me when I had my I-485 interview. They sent me a pink letter stating they needed this and I had 80 days to send it to Lee's Summit, Montanna.

I sent my medical examination soon after I received the notice. I haven't received anything from them since then if they got it. I'm kind of worried. I really need advance parole because me and my husband are doing a renewal of vows out of the country with about 45 guests (family) who have paid alot of money to participate in this vacation/renewal of vows.

Do you think my I-131 will be affected by this?
or do you think I will be fine and receive my AP before October 6?

Any insight would be appreciated! I'm on such a tight deadline... and so many people are depending on this.

or do you think I will be fine and receive my AP before October 6? The quicker you respond the quicker your case will be resumed due to the RFE. Keep your finger's crossed, you still have plenty of time for your AP document to be processed.

Just make sure you respond to RFE's in a timely manner.

Thanks for the quick response.

It says on the RFE that I am ineligible for employment authorization persuant to title 8 until 90 days when missing initial evidence received. Nothing in regards to the dance parole.

That's OK I was the dumb one but I just hope my I-131 Advance Parole isn't being held up either.

I sent the medical/i-693 immediatley ASAP to Montanna.

mgreen. Already sent the RFE back with the request I-693.

By looking at your timeline, I see you started this process in May, I believe you will receive your AP way before October. It has plenty of time to being processed (usually around 60-90 days) which puts it between the 1st and 30th of August. So do not worry, you will be fine, even with the RFE you still have another month to receive it.

I would think you should even have you Green Card before your trip! :)

I thought I was going to have to wait for 18 months to get my green card?

SO the only thing that will be held up by my RFE is my I-485 and I-765? And hopefully they are resuming?

Does anyone get a notice onece they send in the requirements for the RFE? or do they just assume?

I thought I was going to have to wait for 18 months to get my green card? No. Not at all. More like 4 to 6 months, that is if you don't get stuck in Fbi namecheck.

Answers in bold.

When you get your green card also depends on your DO. Some of the DOs are a lot faster. Some like Washington DO suck and anyone who gets the GC withing 18 months is lucky.

yes every req. for additional evidence puts u're application onhold or technically at the bottom till the new doc is required and will be processed as if it was received that day.

But my RFE was in regards to my I-485 and EAD, it said no where it would affect my advance parole I-131.

I'm worrying again now... because if that means they are startingover the day they received my RFE evedence that means I wouldnt get my AP until end of October and I leave on October 6. In other words way to late :(

It will not delay your AP. Only your I-485 and your chance to apply for interim EAD (which is not possible anyways, the District Offices no longer do that).

What you read is just a standard message that has not changed.

You will get your AP in about 3 weeks. So do not worry.

yes Ap isjust about the frst thing that gets approved right after biometrics i think. It comes before EAd and definitelly before u're interview.
