Request for initial Evidence(I-485)

Folks,help me out.

I130,I485,I765 filed to chicago on April 15th,2007

Finger print on May 16th,2007

Received a letter last week,it mentioned that request for initial evidence(I485).

the first item they requested is "Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year or certified internal revenue service(IRS) copies".Actually we DID send a copy of my wife(US citizen)'s tax return (2005,2004,2003) in the first place,but those return was our copy of tax return.should we request a return transcripts from IRS?will those return transcripts works?any idea will be welcomed.

The same thing happened to me. I sent all the documents when I filed my AOS. I guess they must have lost it. I recopied/reprinted all the same tax documents and attached a simple cover letter that explained all the documents that I was attaching, plus the RFE.
