I just received an email/txt from USCIS that :

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I checked the status on the USCIS website and it shows that the current status is the same. Till yesterday it was showing the status as "Acceptance" i know that it progressed from that to "Initial Review" and now its at "Request for Additional Evidence"
Is there an issue with my case? or is it a stage that shows up on every one's status of naturalization ? I had received the NOA and I have been expecting the Finger Printing Letter with the appointment. Does this mean that its not on the way ? Is it going to cause any delay in the process.

I am aware that I will get more information on this when the mail actually arrives, but i am anxious now, cant help it. Does the proof/evidence they are seeking need to be mailed to USCIS/the address they mention in the notice or is it a the documents thats you would have to carry for the interview?
please advise.

Hi sreeleshk,

I haven't seen this myself, since I just got my case uploaded to the Case Status; but from what I have read on the forum, this means that a FP letter is on its way. It seems to be taking about 10-14 days from the PD before an FP appointment is mailed. I would not worry about it, since everyone seems to be getting this status.. :)

The RFE is most likely your FP notice. Watch your mail for it and for anything else that may come from USCIS. The online case status system is not very detailed so it will not show the difference between standard RFEs (like FP) or others where something may be missing in the application. I got my FP notice on day 18 so you should have yours in a week or so if they are processing things at the same speed and USPS cooperates.
