Request for Evidence - HELP

Hi Everyone,

I got the letter for CIS asking for further evidence.

1) They ask for my travel records and the original RTDs and I-94s.

I returned all the RTDs to CIS, and submitted all I-94s at the airports before leaving the US. I only have a valid RTD and the I-94 that was issued to me when I returned from my last trip. My question is, do I need to send them my valid RTD and the current I-94?

2) Submit evidence that you have been physically present in the US for at least one year from the date that your asylum application was grated.

Does this mean the first year after getting asylum, or any one year after getting asylum? I submitted copies of my lease as evidence--the year after I got asylum--of my stay in the US with my I-485. Did any of you have to submit this? If so, what did you guy submit as evidence, and do you suggest I should submit?

They also ask to fill out the Form G-235A.

Thanks in advance for your help.

is this for your adjustment application? if so, when did you apply for adjustment and if this was the first letter they sent?

My ND is 12/99 (the notificate from CIS that they received my I-485). I submitted my medicals with I-485, the did not ask me to re-do the medicals.

Gino,

I believe they want to have your ORIGINAL travel documents. They will return them to you after processing your file.

And they are asking for evidence from the time you were approved for asylum to the time you filed for adjustment of status. They want to make sure that on the date you filed your I-485 you were actually eligible (as an aside it would really suck if they determined that you were a few days shy of the one year requirement).

Gino,

Did your on-line status change? or just the date? If yes, when?

Thank you.

I also submitted my medicals with I-485, but they still ask me again for medicals. They also requested that I send them copy of my RTD and explanation why did I traveled outside US.

The online status and the date changed. I was able to pust some evidence/info together for the CIS. So, let's hope they will approve my case soon.

Does anyone know how long doe it take them to approve a case after they receive the RFE?

Thanks,

Gino

1- Send original of your RTD and I-94.For the past years, write a letter and put down all dates you left and came back(Including names of US airports when transactions have been made) and names of countries you visited(Including purpose of your trips).Explain that all previous RTDs have been sent back to uscis when applying for a new one.Let them know that you gave up all previous I-94 to your airliner agents when travelling abroad.

2-1 year presence runs from the date you have been granted asylum to the same date in the following year.During that year,if you worked somewhere, you should have your form W2 and send it .That's good enough. If you didn't work, you should be gone to school. In this case, send any school record you may have.If you had bills(Phone,gas...) on your name or morgage,rent,lease... Send.
It's not a big deal. You will be fine
Good luck
