All security checks are cleared and a visa is available. I am ordering these cases to complete the final adjudication. Please allow 2-3 weeks for this process. Thank you.

Yes. You should see your approval in couple of weeks atmost (although for some people it took about a month).

Thanks Nivasvs.

Do we have any Chinese nationals filed in 2005 that were approved recently? Seems that Chinese nationals tend to be stuck in name check for a long long time

Agree. My case has been pending for name check since Dec. 2003. And a recent inquiry still gave me this answer.

The logic that FBI put on lastname and firstname for name check doesn't make sense on Chinese cases. There are hundreds of millions of Chinese people share the same last name, like Li, Wang, and millions of people have the same firstname. FBI is actually doing a useless job to manually check a person's name based on the "hit" of lastname and/or firstname in their database.

I guess they need to take a 101 course on people naming characteristics in different countries.

you can also advise your friends/family members in china to name their children with 5-6 characters to be sure they won't share the same name with others, if they ever want to come to the States. :)

Even though you have uncommon first as well as last name you can still be stuck in Name check. I donot have a common name still its stuck with FBI. May be they didn't like my name since its difficult to say

That's funny Mannnn :)

But, not too un common. In Gujarat, INDIA people with last names of PATEL (yes... of POTEL-MOTEL fame)were having problems in getting Visa and I have heard of many cases where they have changed their last names to get visas

On another note, do you know why the cutoff dates for Chinese EB1 and EB2 cases were able to move so quickly? It's because no one from China is able to get through name check, hence little demand on the visa! DUH!! :p :D

Are you subtly suggesting that the Chinese are a bunch of criminals ?

Because if you are stuck in name check then it means that

1. you are a criminal
2. you share a name with a criminal

in both cases your logic states that chinese are criminals.

I think you're deducing a bit too much from that post. Relax - no one is insinuating any group of people of being criminals. All that is speculated by the original poster, is that it seems that more Chinese applications seem to get stuck in name check. Remember this is mere speculation, there are no hard numbers to back that up. And in any case, no one becomes a criminal just by virtue of having the same name as a criminal.

it was meant to be a sarcastic remark toward the name check process emphasizing the first and last names. you obviously don't have the sense of humor to understand this. just in case you are still not understanding: sarcastic = ironic, and just look up the meaning of ironic before you post any more replies.

Guys,

Everybody is already worried about this stressful GC process. There is no need to add to it. It is better not to pass any remarks even as a joke or sarcasm, even if you do not mean any harm. We all should support each other as we are all in the same boat, going through the same suffering.
